With the aid of some clever copywriting and stirring up some controversy they managed to achieve outstanding results. In figures from January so far show them as having been catapulted into the 5th most visited dating site in the UK and jump of 131 places compared to December.

How did they do it? Well on January 4th 2010 they released a press statement via various online channels announcing that they were axing some 5,000 members following complaints that they had put on weight over the festive period.

Amazing what some quick thinking and a clever idea can do for your business….

Perhaps they should have also linked in with a weight loss company or product in a joint marketing promotion!
